Child kidnapped, sexually assaulted in The Pas

A horrific crime against a child in northern Manitoba. RCMP say they are investigating after a 6-year-old girl was kidnapped and sexually assaulted.

It happened Wednesday morning. Police say the girl was walking to school when she was abducted by a male.

RCMP say he took her to a residence and sexually assaulted her. She escaped and made it home where her mother called police.

A 17-year-old male was arrested. The victim is in hospital in Winnipeg.
