Friends mourn crash victims
Garrett Watson drove by the scene of the deadly car crash Friday night on Bishop Grandin Boulevard, not knowing his friends were inside the mangled wreck.
Watson's mom phoned him Saturday morning to tell him the grim news. Two of his best friends from his hometown, 20-year-old Tyler Musey and 21-year-old Adam Gattinger, were killed in the accident.
“Two guys that were, you know, in the prime of their life and taken, it’s tough,” said Garrett Watson.
The two-door blue Infiniti they were in slammed into a light standard, sheering the car in half. Two other friends in the backseat survived the crash and were taken to hospital.
The young men were lifelong friends from Swan River.
Swan River residents are in shock and disbelief over the loss of the two popular young men. Gattinger and Musey's high school is bringing in crisis councilors to deal with the tragedy.
Hundreds of people have signed up on two Facebook memorial sites remembering the young men
Saturday night friends held a vigil at the crash site. Today police analysts were back on the scene to try to determine how two promising lives were cut short.
