MONTREAL - Four people have been arrested after an investigation into organized crime led to an armoured car, which contained weapons, Montreal police said Friday.
At least three of the four people arrested - which included three men and a woman - were expected to appear in Montreal court late Friday afternoon on weapons charges.
The charges are the result of a series of search warrants carried out by police on Thursday in the Montreal area, said a police spokesperson.
According to police sources, one of the suspects is a 55-year-old man reputed to be an influential member of an organized crime family tied to the Montreal Mafia.
