The Manitoba couple who won $50 million in Friday's Lotto Max lottery arrived in Winnipeg Monday to claim their prize.

Kirby and Marie Fontaine of Sagkeeng First Nation dropped by the headquarters of the Western Canada Lottery Corporation to present the winning ticket they purchased at a store in Pine Falls, about 130 kilometres northeast of Winnipeg.

It's the largest lottery jackpot ever won in Manitoba, and one of the largest in Canadian history.

The couple, accompanied by their lawyer and Sagkeeng Chief Donovan Fontaine, would not talk as they left the WCLC around noon Monday - they are not $50 million dollars richer quite yet. More paperwork needs to be done; an official announcement and news conference is expected in Winnipeg Tuesday - where the Fontaines will get their millions.
