Just in time for the end of 2011, the Winnipeg Police Service has finally issued it's annual report for the year 2010. The long awaited document was released Wednesday.
Statistics revealed in the report claim violent crimes city wide dropped by nine per cent in 2010, compared to the year before.
Police say they saw a thirty per cent drop in violent crime in the dowtown area, compared to 2009. That includes homicides, assaults and robberies.
Police also revealed how many people were caught by photo radar in 2010.
Those photo radar trucks ticketed 48,043 drivers, a drop of 28 per cent from 2009.
38,779 vehicles were snapped for speeding at intersection with cameras, a 12 per cent increase.
More than 9,700 were ticketed for running red lights, up one per cent from 2009.
